October
2, 2006 Tipp City Area United Way “Uniting Neighbors, Changing Lives” When
you invest your tax-deductible contributions to your local United Way, you are
providing help and hope to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Your local United Way is asking every community member to be a part of
this effort. Together we are “Uniting Neighbors, and Changing Lives.”
We
are providing leadership to a community-wide effort of identifying needs,
developing a plan to meet those needs, and bringing together resources to
improve lives in Tipp City, Monroe, and Bethel Townships.
We are opening doors for people to receive vital services and programs by
partnering with 23 local agencies. Last
year, our partner agencies reported serving over 10,000 individuals from our
area. Some individuals receiving help needed more than one service, so the
numbers do contain some duplication. It’s
safe to state that one out of every 3 people, are touched by your local United
Way each year. Our network helps
ensure that a full spectrum of needs is addressed while getting to the root of
the problem. This
year’s goal is $140,000.00. Committees
have been formed and volunteer board members are working diligently to achieve
this goal, Tim Zigler-Schools, Vickie Blakey-City & Townships, Chuck
Smith-Professionals, Zachary Jacobs and Jesse Chamberlain- Finance &
Insurance, Jennifer Buehrer & Mindy Benjamin-General Business, Mary Bowman,
David Mikel, and Jeff Calicoat-Leadership Giving, Bill Moeller, and Deb
Carr-Major Firms, Deb Carr-Residential. Tipp
City Area United Way is a locally-based charity. Funds raised here, stay here.
With many of our residents commuting to work outside of the Tipp City
area, it is important to remember to designate your United Way contribution back
to the Tipp City Area United Way. The
reality is that service delivery is determined by residence, not where you give
your United Way contribution. In
life altering events, such as a house fire, it would be the agencies in the Tipp
City area that would help you recover. Please ask your employer for a “Designation or Donor Option
Card,” so you can make sure your workplace donation is designated back to the
Tipp City, Monroe, and Bethel Township areas.
Your
gift matters, whether you donate through your workplace, leadership giving
($500.00 +), residential direct mail, or you’re a corporate donor, each gift,
combined with others, makes real and lasting change possible.
If
you have any questions regarding our campaign, need an informational brochure,
or would like to facilitate a company campaign at your workplace, please call
