Tipp
City Area United Way, Inc.
2005
- Goal $140,000. Extending
their 2005-Campaign Due to our low campaign status, the
United Way has decided to extend their campaign thru December 31.
We are faced with an unprecedented challenge of raising the necessary
funds to continue to financially assist the United Way’s 26 health and human
service agencies. Other Miami
County United Ways have experienced continued support even with the downturn in
the economy. United Way of Troy has
raised-to-date $599,849.00 of their $609,000.00 goal and Piquarea United Way has
raised $545,038.00 of their $545,000.00 goal.
Unfortunately, our area has not experienced the same community support,
and we have raised only $43,419.96 of our $140,000.00 goal.
By this time last year, we raised $70,988.16 which is down $27,568.20. NOW MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED THE COMMUNITIES SUPPORT! It has been our experience that during
difficult economic times, the need of people in our community increases.
Such is the case this year. Although,
individual contributions have stayed about the same and some new business owners
have contributed for the first time. This
has helped, but more is needed. Most
United Ways receive a large portion of their contributions from local business
and manufacturing. Unfortunately,
this has not been the case for Tipp City. Some
local manufactures and business have been long time supporters and we are
grateful for their support but much more is needed.
Business and manufacturing support needs to increase through donations
from our local businesses and/or employee campaigns.
Payroll deduction allows employees to budget their gift and companies can
show their support to our community by matching their employees contributions.
Every dollar you contribute to the Tipp City Area United Way is an
investment in the future of our community and no gift is ever too small.
Statistics from our last censes indicated our population to be over
20,200 for our service area. With a
population of this size, if everyone would give even a small contribution, the
results would be drastic for our community.
Another factor in our community is many
of our community members who live here commute to other communities for their
workplace. The United Way system is
set-up so individuals can designate where they live, or anywhere for that
matter. When faced with a crisis or
for some reason you were to fall on bad luck.
Help would come from local agencies that use donations from your
communities United Way. Ask your
employer for a designation or donor option card. This can be filled out at work where you can take advantage
of payroll deductions. The Greater
Dayton Area Untied Way designation number for the Tipp City Area United Way is
1030. Individuals employed with the
Federal Government need to write Tipp City Area United Way’s CFC code # 7144.
The United Way's partner agencies have
been long standing in our community and have been here everyday to help.
They are ready to respond in times of crisis.
Most recipients who receive help through your United Way donations are
the working poor or someone who has worked a job prior and has just hit a streak
of bad luck, and needs our help and understanding.
Two out of every three people in our community will benefit from your
generosity. We urge you to support
the United Way and its 26 partner agencies.
If you live and/or work in the Tipp City, Bethel, or Monroe Township
areas please give, you may do so by sending in your contribution with the pledge
card provided below. If you are a
local business owner or work for a local business, please consider a company
contribution or an employee campaign. If
you work in another community designate back to your community.
For additional information and help with your endeavor, please contact
Deborah Carr at 669-3863.
